The Clarity Check (quiz)
The quiz at /quiz/ runs entirely in your web browser. Your answers, your first name (if you enter one) and your results are not sent to me or anyone else and are not stored. When you close or refresh the page, they're gone. If you choose to print or save your results as a PDF, that copy stays on your own device.
Who helps me run this website
I use a small number of trusted services. They process information on my behalf and only as needed to provide their service:
- Formspree (Formspree, Inc., USA) receives contact form submissions and forwards them to my email.
- GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc., USA) hosts the website. Like most web hosts, it may briefly log technical data such as IP addresses for security and to keep the service running.
- Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., USA) provides the domain name (DNS) service. [If Cloudflare's proxy is switched on, add: "and helps protect and speed up the site, which involves processing IP addresses and technical data."]
- Google Fonts (Google LLC, USA) supplies the fonts. Your browser requests them from Google's servers, which means Google receives your IP address. No Google advertising or analytics cookies are set by this site.
- Email [email provider, e.g. Google Workspace / Microsoft 365] stores the emails we exchange.
- [Booking tool, payment/checkout provider, accounting software, CRM, if used]
International transfers
Some of these providers are based in, or store data in, the United States or other countries outside the UK. Where that happens, they rely on recognised safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK-US Data Bridge. [Bella: I work from Thailand. Add a line confirming how you access and store client data while abroad.]
Cookies
This website doesn't set any cookies of its own and doesn't use analytics or advertising trackers. The third-party services above (for example Google Fonts and, if used, the booking or checkout pages) may use strictly necessary technical data to work. If I ever add analytics or marketing tools, I'll update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
How long I keep your information
- Enquiries that don't go further: up to [12 months], then deleted.
- Client records and invoices: [6 years] after our work ends, to meet tax and accounting rules.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information I hold about you
- ask me to correct anything that's wrong
- ask me to delete your information
- object to, or ask me to restrict, how I use it
- ask for your information in a portable format
- withdraw consent at any time, where I rely on consent
To use any of these rights, email bella@businessclarityclub.com. I'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, please tell me first so I can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, telephone 0303 123 1113.
Keeping your information safe
I use reputable providers, strong passwords and two-factor authentication where available, and I only share information when it's needed to deliver my services.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date at the top.
